I never really listened to music up until I was around 17, when I was introduced to Tyler the Creator. And ooooh man, I wanna say he changed my life and my view on music as a whole. I remember the summers of 2023 and 2024, when I would go out at midnight on my electric scooter and skateboard that I would precariously hold down with my foot to stop it from flying off the scooter as I cut corners up hehe
One time I was on my scooter, I heard a car coming from behind so I moved over and as it drove past I felt something smash against my back. IT WAS AN EGG. The motherfuckers really just driveby egged someone who's on his scooter at 3am trying to listen to Tyler the Creator smh. Here's a picture if anyone cares
My favourite album is Wolf. It's all I would listen to at the time, and having just gone through a breakup it really made the songs more impactful. I don't listen to him as much these days, but I can't deny that he had a massive impact on my teen years and I'm really happy about it.
In the big 2026, I dare say I'm proud of my music taste. It's a subjective topic, but if you saw my first Spotify playlist you would understand where I'm coming from. I used to listen to bangers like UK drill and generic American rap (so don't even try me).
Some bands/artists that really stood out to me are: Deftones, Sevendust and Kill Bill: The Rapper (and Rav). My favourite album for the last year has been Saturday Night Wrist. I've never been one to be absorbed by lyrics, as I often listened to songs but didn't look into them that deeply. However, SNW is something really beautiful. I've never reacted as strongly to songs as I did to the ones in this album, like I can't put into words how majestic Cherry waves or Xerces is (not glazing i swr)
